On Thursday, October 26, the Minister of Culture inaugurated the 3rd exhibition of young artists at the Grand Holiday Villa Hotel in Khartoum.
The exhibition is part of the third edition of the AFRBIA Prize for Arab and African Youth Under the organization of Arab-African Youth Council.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of State at the Ministry of International Cooperation Dr. Sumia Aukud and former Minister of Culture Sayed Haroun as a guest of the exhibition alongside many young people and civil society organizations.
The Minister of Culture stressed the importance of the arts in enriching consciousness, cultivating optimism, spreading a culture of hope and guiding Arab youth towards moderation and wisdom, and calling on African youth to fight against despair and fighting despair and spreading peace.
The Minister of Culture said that Sudanese youth were victims of the US 20-year blockade and that the West had planned to destroy the future of youth through the ICC and that Sudanese youth should not rebel against the president. Omer Al Bashir.
At the end of his speech the Minister of Culture thanked the sponsor of the award, Vice President General Bakri Hassan Saleh the patron of the award AFRABIA. He also thanked the great Shubrin decided artist’s family and he added that Sudan will witness a great cultural movement in October with the opening of the Khartoum International Live Show and the Sama Festival which took place concluded in the national theater in Omdurman and he announced the reception of ministers of culture of Islamic countries in Khartoum next November as part of SINAR the Capital of Islamic Culture.

On the other hand the Secretary-General of the Arab-African Youth Council] Dr. Awad Hassan said: (that the exhibition was followed by 70 artists and the exhibition will continue for two days.) Adding that the council organized a telier for young artists at its headquarters in Khartoum; council gave the artists technical means to help them participate in the prize, there are Sudanese artists won the prize last year, in the end he announced the closing concert that will sing the singer Mohammed Aljazar.
The opening ceremony was attended by members of the African Prize jury in the fields of poetry, history and art, which includes the Deputy Secretary General of the League of Arab States Dr. Abdel Latif Obaid of Tunisia and the Director of the House of Poetry in Khartoum Dr. Siddiq Omar Siddiq and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Helwan University, Sayed Ibrahim Qandil, Egypt and the President of the Arab Federation of Clubs of History and Arabic story Bader Al – Otaibi of Kuwait and The Secretary General of the Sudanese Story Club, Mr Ahmed Awad, attended the opening ceremony in the presence of Philip Lawrence, Vice President of the Youth Council.
